K-VALA was created by Urivaldo Lopes.

I’ve worked with fashion brands across different parts of the world — Italy, Dubai, the United States. I learned the industry, the standards, the aesthetics. But at some point, I wanted something that felt more real. More me.

K-VALA comes from where I’m from.

I grew up in São Vicente, Cape Verde. An island where the sun hits different, where the ocean is part of your daily life, and where confidence isn’t something you fake — it’s just there. On the beaches, women don’t hide. They don’t try to fit into a standard. They own their bodies, their presence, their energy.

That stayed with me.

The name K-VALA comes from a fish I used to eat almost every day back home. Simple, local, real. That connection between the street, the ocean, and everyday life is part of the brand.

K-VALA is built for women who are not afraid to be seen. Not afraid to be sexy. Not afraid to take space.

The designs are bold — high cuts, strong shapes, vibrant colors. Inspired by the island, but shaped by my experience working in fashion cities around the world. It’s that mix: street + beach + fashion.

Everything starts in Cape Verde, where I design. Production happens internationally. The vision is global — from Latin America to Miami, to Europe — but the soul always comes from the islands.

This brand is also about putting Cape Verde on the map. Sharing that energy, that warmth, that freedom with the world.

K-VALA is not about fitting in.
